By-laws of the European Medical Laser Association (EMLA)

These By-laws have been prepared by Executive Committee and presented to the General Assembly at the 14th International Congress of the Association Laser Prague 2009 which adopted the By-laws as the fundamental legislative document of the Association effective as of June 1st, 2009.

Shortly, By-laws of EMLA has 8 articles.

In Article 1 “Fundamental Provisions” name of the Association, location, and other general information are introduced.

In Article 2 “The Aims and Objectives” stated, that the goal of the Association shall be the enhancement of health care through effective application of laser and related technologies in all fields of medicine including, but not limited to, surgery, dentistry, rehabilitation, physiotherapy, cosmetics and veterinary medicine.

In Article 3 “Membership” terms of the membership, as well as rights, benefits and obligations of members of Association are described.
Association has the following membership categories:
○ Individual Member
○ Honorary Member
○ Collective Member
○ Corporate Member
○ Student Member

In Article 4 “The Bodies of the Association” different bodies of Association together with their functions are presented.
The Association includes the following Bodies:
○ The General Assembly
○ The Executive Committee
○ The President of the Association
○ The President of Congress
○ The Secretary
○ The Treasurer
○ The Parliament
○ The Boards
The General Assembly is the supreme body of the Association and President is its top official.
The President of Congress is the head of the organizing committee of an EMLA congress.

In Article 5 “The Administration” structure of the administration of the Association are revealed, including functions of CEO and rules of removal members from Association.

Last three articles are about Finance and Property of the Association, Liquidation and Miscellaneous.
